Hi friends !

I'm back and with a lot of action once again from the cricket field after rains marred the Tri-series in Sri Lanka. The DLF Cup, held in Kuala Lumpur saw some of the best cricketing action and we rewind it here for you.

Ricky Ponting It's Aussies all the way. The World Champions just appeared to be too good for the West Indies in what turned out to be a one-sided final of the DLF Cup. Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting having won the toss, opted to bat first and managed to set a respectable total of 240 runs on the board, powered by half-centuries from Damien Martyn and Andrew Symonds. Defending a modest 240, the Australians rode on Lee's 4/24 to bundle out the West Indies for 113 in 34.2 overs and lift the DLF Cup. Brett Lee with 12 wickets for 108 runs in 3 matches in the tournament was adjudged the Man of the Match and Man of the Series. Australian captain Ricky Ponting had this to say at the post match conference "It was a good result but I still don't think we played our best cricket today". Ponting's views reflect that the Aussies will be the team to beat in the upcoming Champions Trophy More...

:: Player in Focus :: Brett Lee
Brett Lee Often referred to as the "Ferrari" of fast bowling, this 30 year old Australian express fast bowler from New South Wales has on many occasions turned matches in his teams favour not only with the ball but with the bat as well. Australia's player rotation policy saw Brett Lee in action for only the last 3 matches including the finals of the DLF Cup, but that was enough for the blonde speedster to tear apart the opposition batting order. With 12 wickets for 108 runs from 3 matches, Brett Lee wreaked havoc on the Indian & West Indian batting lineup in the tournament. His superlative performance in the tournament earned him the Man of the Series & Man of the Match award in 2 matches. "Bing" as he is also known to his teammates, is currently at the 2nd spot in the ICC Top ODI Bowlers ratings and is sure to be the one to watch out for in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.

In a England & West Indies ODI on 26th Aug, 1976 at Scarborough, Michael Holding's throw from long-leg hit a set of stumps & deflected to break the one at other end. With both batsmen out of their creases the umpires were too confused to give a 'run-out' decision.
