Hello Friends !

Team India finally broke a 35 year old jinx bringing cheer to all its fans. Having pulled off a 49 run win over the West Indies at Sabina Park, India not only won the match but also managed to win the Test series in the Carribeans after 35 years.

Rahul Dravid In what turned out to be a low scoring game, India were all out for 200 runs in their 1st innings with skipper Dravid top scoring 81 runs. In reply West Indies were bundled out for 103 runs, Harbhajan Singh taking 5 for 13 runs in only 27 deliveries. India began their second innings poorly losing both openers cheaply and thereafter losing wickets at regular intervals. However it was " The Wall " Rahul Dravid who yet again played a crucial knock of 68 runs that helped India reach 171 and set West Indies a target of 269 to win. With Sreesanth & Munaf Patel striking early blows, West Indies never looked like reaching the target though Sarawan and Ramadin did try to steady the innings with their half centuries. Kumble with his haul of 6 wickets then ripped through the innings and West Indies finally ended for 219 runs, incidentally the highest innings score of the match but 49 runs short to handover India a memorable victory Read more...

Jayasuriya It was Jayasuriya magic all over again as Sri Lanka beat England in the last ODI to make a 5 - 0 sweep of the ODI series. Having lost all the 4 ODIs against Sri Lanka in this series, England put on a spirited display putting up 321 runs for Sri Lanka to chase. However Sri Lankan openers U Tharanga & S Jaysuriya put on a 3rd highest ODI opening wicket partnership of 286 runs, making the English side look very ordinary and wrap up the game with 12.3 overs to spare. Jayasuriya made a hurricane knock of 152 from 99 balls to take the the Man of match and Man of the Series honours. With 320 runs & 5 wickets in the ODI series Jayasuriya, silenced his critics, letting his batting and bowling to do the talking.
