Wasim JafferWhat a damper !! The 1st test at the VCA Grounds, Nagpur ended in a tame draw with the Indians starting on a faltering note and losing their minds and wickets towards the end to finish at 260/6. The Indian captain agreed that the visitors had an edge throughout the match. Obviously, the visitors had an edge as their bowler Mathew Hoggard took 7 wickets in the match, not forgetting, the valuable contributions of 60 and 104 n.o. by debutant Alastair Cook.There were hardly any high-points of the Indian innings except for Wasim Jaffer's century and the way he combined with the Indian captain as the duo saved India from embarrassment with a sedate second-wicket stand of 168 runs on the final day.Want to know more about the heroics of Team India as they scampered to save themselves from a crushing defeat ?   Buzz in here..

:: Debutants day out !!
Alastair Cook The first test turned out to be a tale of debutants and their awesome performance. Throughout the test there was some or the other debutant showing his great cricketing skills on the field. Be it Sreesanth with his clever bowling on Day 1 which gave him 4 wickets or Monty Panesar on Day 2 chipping in with 2 wickets. The person who will not be forgotten in a hurry was Alastair Cook who gave the visitors a reason to cheer about with his crackling 60 in the 1st innings and 104 in the 2nd. All these debutants enjoyed their own special moments in the limelight, and the Indians and English alike, sincerely wish that they continue with the good job. Things have happened pretty quickly for someone who did not even expect a Test call so early and Sreesanth sure is happy to be on the fast track. Cook, 21, was the chef who ensured the Englishmen did not have butterflies in their stomachs at lunch on Day 1 and continued with what he does best even in the 2nd innings with a swashbuckling century. Still thirsty to know more about the deeds of the debutants. Click here to relish it all.
