Hello Friends,

Time to cheer !! Yes, India has just won the ODI series against England with 3 matches still to go. With the Indians leading the series 4-0, will they make a clean sweep from here? Answer this plus gain a lot of knowledge about cricket as well in this edition of your favorite newsletter.

Indian TeamCollective effort clicks, India wins series ! Fuelled by their slow bowling strengths and powered by collective batting ability, India cantered to an empathetic four-wicket win with 2.4 overs to spare and take an unassailable 4-0 lead over England. India's eight successive wins equal the previous record the team has achieved twice, in 1985-86 and in the World Cup in 2003. The victory also takes their world record chase-and-win streak to 15 from 5 September 2005 in Harare to Thursday in Kochi. Dravid surely is playing the perfect role of sheet anchor. His well calculated risks and consistent good performance has inspired the younger lot in the team to a great extent. No wonder Yuvraj gave the credit to seniors' guidance for his good show. The clean sweep has resulted because of a good show by some or the other player throughout the series. While it was Bhajji in the 1st match, Raina set Faridabad on fire in the 2nd ODI. A top class performance by the younger brigade in the 3rd ODI led to a crushing 49 run win. Let me give you a sneak peek into the match at Kochi as well. Speed up !!...

:: Raina - A match-winner to the core !
Suresh Raina ' When the going gets tough, the tough get going ', the famous lines of the song are indeed true, and the toughest ultimately shines like gold because of their determination to perform well. Suresh Raina, a 19 year old, who has recently made an entry into the world of international cricket, is fast proving to be a match winner in the Indian armoury. The efforts of this diminutive boy from UP during the 2nd one dayer was a solid proof of what the freshness of youth has helped achieve. His heroic knock is well worth its weight in gold because he is talented enough to perform even when the team is down in dumps. The Poms surely must be scared of this ' frightening potential ' and according to the British media, ' Raina is a lesson for untested England '. Raina surely makes the likes of Dhoni and Pathan look old hats and probably gives jitters to Yuvi- Kaif combo when he is himself paired up with Powar. Suddenly, an uprising is taking place in India. Here is a fairly detailed account of this young gun's performance.
