You all must have enjoyed the nerve-cracking test match wins this week. While Sri Lanka went on to win one dramatic one wicket victory over south Africa, in England, the home team celebrated their first test series triumph since winning back the Ashes last summer, by defeating Pakistan to get a 2-0 lead.

Mahela Jayawardene Sri Lanka survived a thrilling finish in Colombo as they beat South Africa by one wicket to wrap up a 2-0 series win. It was Sri Lanka's highest fourth-innings run chase - and the sixth highest successful run chase in the history of Test cricket. Earlier South Africa won the toss and decided to bat. Thanks to half centuries by Prince, DeVilliers and Pollock they reached a score of 361. Murali was the top Sri lankan bowler with 5 wickets. Sri Lanka didn't fare any better as they were all out on 321, Kapugedera being the highest scorer with 63. Steyn took 5 wickets for South Africa. Although Gibbs amassed 92 runs, it was Murali magic all the way which sent 7 South African batsmen spinning and the visitors were bundled on 311. With a target of 352 to win Sri Lanka was on 262-5 at the end of the 4th day. The hosts lost their wicket-keeper Prasanna Jayawardene early ,lbw to Andrew Hall. Skipper Jayawardene and Maharoof then took Sri Lanka to 341-6 before Jayawardene fell to Boje after making 123. Hosts lost two more wickets before Lasith Malinga hit the winning run. Ian Bell Ian Bell's 119 against Pakistan in the 3rd test made him the first Englishman since Graham Gooch to score a hundred in three successive tests and 10th amongst all English batsmen to do so. He was a key player in England's series win over Pakistan with scores of 100*, 106 and 119. Since his debut in 2001-02 series, he has been a strong middle order batsman for England coming in at number 6. This Warwickshire batsman is averaging over 200 in this series. Sri Lanka Tri-series: Starting 14 August, South Africa, Sri Lanka and India will battle for the Unitech Cup, in Sri Lanka. Rahul Dravid will lead India while Sachin Tendulkar is all set to make a comeback along with Dinesh Mongia. Mark Boucher, the South African wicketkeeper, has been appointed captain for the tri-series while Jayawardene has been retained as the captain for the hosts. "We have a tough series ahead, with Sri Lanka doing very well in recent one-dayers. But if we start well, we can make a turnaround," said Dravid, whose side is looking to make a comeback after the 4-1 defeat against the West Indies.
