India lose ODI series 1-4
India lost the ODI series against West Indies by 4 matches. After winning the 1st match by a margin of 5 wickets, things were looking positive for India and there were speculations about the team making a clean sweep in the series. But alas, fortunes turned and team India could not extend their dream run of most no. of successive run chases as they lost the 2nd match by just 1 run in a nail biting match. Yuvraj Singh's 93 couldn't overshadow Sarwan's 98 and all his efforts were in vain. The 3rd match at St. Kitts was equally entertaining as West Indies took away the match at the last ball. The mainstay was once again Sarwan although Chanderpaul's effort cannot be undermined. India played poorly when it mattered the most. They gave away the 4th match to West Indies on a platter. It was Bravo who came out on top this time. India should have won the final match if only to save face but they faltered once more while chasing and were all out for 236 in answer to West Indies' 255. That is how the ODI saga ended and now the whole nation is looking forward to the test series starting on 2nd June at Antigua.

:: Bravo, the 'new big dog' of Windies team |
Those were the days when the West Indian quicks were feared for their searing pace which made the hapless batsmen just watch the red cherry whiz past their noses at break-neck speed.
Not anymore. With the emergence of Dwayne Bravo, the slower delivery seems to be fast acquiring the status of the most lethal weapon.
The new ball bowler has broken the Indian back twice, at crucial junctures, in the one-day series with slow, 'harmless' balls that baffled the batsmen and broke the backbone of the innings.
With impressive performances both with the ball as well as the bat, Bravo is the 'new big dog' of West Indian cricket, going by his e-mail ID that reads 'newbigdog.'
" Brian Lara
is known as the big dog and so someone in the team suggested that I take up the newbigdog, which I did," he smiles More...
